Registration is Now Open for Jammin 2007!

Please note the registration status below as we have closed registration to some folks in an effort to maintain an even balance of leads and follows and to allow everyone to adequately co-exist in the workshops:

  • Beginner Track – Follows: CLOSED
  • Beginner Track – Leads: CLOSED
  • Int/Adv Track – Follows: CLOSED
  • Int/Adv Track – Leads: Open
  • Dances: Open (the dances will be open for walk-up admission and won’t sell out)

Same But Different (Read: Better!) Last year we had such a positive and exciting experience with our instructors!. And with only seven workshops during the weekend we felt like we had only scratched the surface of what these talented individuals could teach us. So, Jammin’ on the James is proud to bring back: Naomi Uyama & Todd Yanacone and Frida Segerdahl & Skye Humphries

These four fabulous dancers have won numerous national dance competitions (American Lindy Hop Championships, Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown, Rhythmic Arts Festival, National Jitterbug Championships, U.S. Swing Open) between them and can also claim a World Lindy Hop Championship as well. These dancers are also members of the Silver Shadows, who have won numerous team titles with their innovative and creative choreography.

So that’s the same part. The different part is that for the first time we’ll be offering a BEGINNER TRACK. Folks new to swing dancing may not be familiar with our instructors but who better to learn the basics from than some of the best dancers on the planet? In order to provide an optimal experience for the beginner lindy hopper, the beginner class size will be limited to 20, making them like mini-privates. .Plus we’ll keep it to 4 workshops (two each day) in order to minimize potential brain frying.
